What counts as “scholarly research” in psychology?
Your research for PY217 requires you to consider and collect information from a variety of sources (such as peer-reviewed journal articles, newspapers, magazines, books, and videos). Psychologists make very careful distinctions between peer-reviewed reports of original research in the field, and publications that are either “derivative” of the primary research or are journalistic in nature.
More information on the distinctions between the types of articles may be found in the BSC library guide to "Comparing Periodical Types."
